Rainy Day blues

30 October 2011 No Comment

Yesterday was a beautiful day, 70 degrees and I was full of energy and motivation to workout.  It was Legs and Back day in my P90X rotation and I killed it.  It is amazing to me how much difference a day makes.  Today is overcast and rainy.  My energy level is low and my only motivation is to go back to bed.  However I know that there is a workout waiting for me to do.  My usual trick is to get up early in the morning an knock out my workout right away.  That did not happen.  So what is my fallback plan?  I am going to make an appointment to workout.  This afternoon at 4 pm I will be pushing play no matter what.  This way I have it set in my mind that I will get the workout in and not stress about it.  The other way to beat the rainy day blues is to get my nutrition right.  By making sure my diet is clean and not indulging I can minimize any negative thoughts about my lack of workout motivation.  Regardless, today is just a day and I am confident that 15 minutes into my workout I will not want to stop and afterwards I will be glad I did it.
