P90X Chest and Back Day

30 January 2012 No Comment

P90X Chest and BackMy workout for today was Chest and Back.  At the beginning of the workout Tony Horton tells you to get ready because Chest and Back ‘works ya’ and he is not kidding.  P90X Chest and Back workout is jam packed with push ups and pull ups.  All from different angles to work all aspects of the chest. You got standard, military, wide, decline and diamond push ups to really isolate the upper pecs as well as the lower pecs. What I like about push ups is that you don’t need to invest in weights, you just use your own body weight. And if you think that isn’t going to be enough weight to make a difference, then you’ve not tried this workout.

And now for the ‘back’ part of P90X Chest and Back

As far as shoulders go the pull ups are insane.  You have wide grip, close grip, reverse chin ups all targeting each muscle in the shoulder as well as the biceps and back.  If you are up for the pull up bar yet this workout is an excellent demonstration of how effective the power bands can be.  As if one time through is not enough you get to do P90X Chest and Back Round 2 which is all those workouts again.  All and all this is a hardcore workout full for pushing and pulling that will leave you exhausted but exhilarated when you have finished it.
